Current Projects

Eco-Toilet Initiative

Toilet facilities are crucial for the development of young people. The Eco-Toilet Initiative involved the installation of toilets at the Khensani's Collection ECD centre in Diepsloot. In addition, classroom facilities were upgraded and a rainwater harvesting system was installed.

Positive Birth & Mothering

Positive Birth & Mothering Content Positive Birth & Mothering: Supporting Mothers, Strengthening Communities Impact: Raising vital funds to support vulnerable mothers, babies, and families while promoting healthier beginnings and stronger communities.

Winter Collection – Use the same content as above

On 27 June 2026, the Rotary Club of Morningside together with Rotary Club of Mornington, Rotary Southern Africa D9400 and PicknPay Morningside came together to, hosted a successful Winter Collection Drive, encouraging shoppers and the community to donate soups, blankets, and other winter essentials.

Previous Projects

Rotary Family Health Day

This is one of our flagship projects at the Rotary Club of Morningside. Each year the club organises the Family Health Day which is held over three days, in Diepsloot.  Hearing tests, HIV testing and counselling are conducted for the community.

Kwena Molapo School in Lanseria

Kwena Molapo high school has consistently produced exceptional matric results over the past decade (above 95%). The Rotary Club of Morningside has provided and supported the school with  a library and an all-weather sports court.

General De La Rey School

General De La Rey School is a dual medium school for children from Grade R to Grade 7. Over the years the Rotary Club of Morningside has assisted the school with stationery packs and other necessities for those children who cannot afford them. We have also provided electronic white boards which teachers have found very useful.

Diepsloot Cricket Club

The Diepsloot Cricket Club competes in the Gauteng leagues. The Rotary Club of Morningside supports the club by providing cricket kit and procuring transport for the teams’ away matches.

Blanket Drive

The Blanket Drive is one of the foremost projects of the club. It raises funds and provides blankets for school children during the winter. To date we have over 400 blankets to donate.
