Improving sanitation, restoring dignity, and creating a healthier learning environment for young children.
Access to safe and hygienic sanitation is fundamental to a child’s health, dignity, and ability to learn. Through the Eco-Toilet Initiative, the Rotary Club of Morningside installed eco-friendly toilet facilities at various Early Development Centres (ECD’s) in Diepesloot, Johannesburg ensuring children have access to clean, safe, and dignified sanitation.
The project also included classroom upgrades and the installation of a rainwater harvesting systems, creating a more sustainable and supportive environment for early childhood development. By improving access to sanitation and clean water, the initiative contributes to better health outcomes, increased school attendance, and a brighter future for every child.
